Incentive Programs

One of the key components to creating a sustainable building is replacing outdated, inefficient technologies with new energy efficient technology. Creating a business case around energy efficient technology can be challenging, which is why incentive programs can be a valuable asset in looking to move forward with retrofit activity. See below for a complete list of incentive programs offered in BC for commercial buildings.

Do you have any questions about incentive programs or require assistance with any of the applications? Feel free to contact Lorina with your inquiries.

PROGRAM UPDATE!

There are a number of different changes in the BC Hydro Power Smart Partners Express and Custom programs coming up in 2012.

The following incentives will be eliminatedfrom the BC Hydro e-catalog on January 12, 2012

  • Compact Flourescents
  • Computer Power Management Software
  • Efficient Power Bars

See a complete list of configuration removals

Incentives for T12 conversions will again decrease after March 31, 2012 in order to align with government legislation.  If you still have T12 fluorescent fixtures it would be advantageous to get in an incentive application in before March 31.  Once an incentive application is approved by BC Hydro, you still have 1 year to implement the project.

There will also potentially be a reduction on incentives available for LED screw-in bulbs replacing 40-60W incandescent bulbs; therefore it would be advantageous to look at getting an incentive application in for these configurations before January 12, 2012.
