BOMA BC meets with the Minister of Finance

On May 30^th, 2022, BOMA BC met with BC’s Minister of Finance, the Honourable Selina Robinson for a wide-ranging discussion on important issues impacting the commercial real estate industry.

BOMA BC used the opportunity to first thank the Minister for responding to our industry’s advocacy and implementing a series of financial incentives in Budget 2022 to encourage building retrofits.  We will be working with the Province to see the successful implementation of these initiatives for the benefit of our membership.

We also discussed a series of issues impacting the commercial real estate industry including property taxes, labour shortages, and building retrofit incentives.

BOMA BC is playing an active role with the Province advocating for sensible solutions for property tax challenges faced by small businesses, working collaboratively to solve labour shortages in the industry, and pushing for incentives to help building owners improve energy efficiency.

We look forward to continuing our strong working relationship with the Provincial Government.
