Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous Journeyman HVAC technician to join our team, tasked with installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. This pivotal role involves overseeing mechanical systems throughout their lifecycle, encompassing installation, maintenance, warranty servicing, and emergency repairs. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in providing mentorship to our apprentices and assisting our customers in selecting the optimal mechanical solutions tailored to their specific needs.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in cleaning, adjusting, and repairing HVAC systems, prioritizing customer satisfaction and safety above all else. Patience, exceptional organizational abilities, and adept troubleshooting skills are key attributes we seek in successful candidates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Clean, adjust, repair systems, and perform warranty services.
- Troubleshoot complex problems and provide guidance and support to apprentice technicians in diagnosing and resolving issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems to identify potential problems and recommend preventive maintenance measures.
- Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Ensure compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Comply with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
- Assist with customers' queries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- Red Seal certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic required.
- CFC/ODS certification required.
- FSR Certification strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of experience working as a Commercial HVAC technician.
- Valid and clean Class 5 driver's license.
- Strong understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
- Working knowledge of boiler systems.
- Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short notice.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $72.72-$75.91 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Additional pay: Overtime pay
