Participate in BOMA's First EMP Challenge!
In support of BC Hydro's PowerSmart month and the BOMA
Energy Management Program, we have decided to challenge our members to
conserve energy in their buildings this October. The winner will receive a
complimentary table of ten at the Christmas Luncheon!
The EMP Challenge is open to all members and their buildings in BC.
Deadline for sign-up is Oct 6.
NEW - An Innovation section has been added to the EMP
Challenge Checklist so that you can incude all the innovative energy
efficient measures and initiatives in your building.

A guideline for specifying commercial glazing in BC is
currently being developed by representatives from the Glazing
Contractor’s Association of BC and the Ministry of Energy and Mines,
as well as members of the architectural and engineering community. It is

applications in commercial settings, and increasing compliance with the

As of January 1, 2013, all residential stratas applying for Power
Smart incentives for simple retrofits to common areas are to apply through
the Product Incentive Program (PIP) instead of Power Smart Partner Express

Corrosion Inhibitors in Heating and Cooling Systems

Metro Vancouver, through a Sewer Use Bylaw, has
the authority within the region to regulate discharges to the sanitary
sewer from non-domestic sources. Discharges to sewer from some heating and
cooling systems are creating a significant issue at wastewater treatment
plants. They are conducting a survey to collect information about heating
