About BOMA BC
BOMA BC (Building Owners and Managers Association of BC) is a not-for-profit association dedicated to the commercial buildings industry. We provide our members with exceptional networking opportunities, webinars, industry news, and reports. We successfully advocate on the industry's behalf on government policy, regulations, and taxation, and have saved the industry millions of dollars.

Victoria Chapter
With its own Board of Directors, membership and events, the Victoria Chapter was created by BOMA BC in 1998 to provide a presence for the Vancouver Island commercial real estate industry.
Members of the Victoria Chapter have access to the same range of membership benefits as those from BOMA BC. Visit our Membership Page for more information.
The Victoria Chapter members are also eligible to participate in The Greater Victoria Resilient District 2030, an exciting new initiative in partnership with the City of Victoria and the District of Saanich.

How To Get Involved, Guidelines and Application
Participating in an industry committee and/or volunteering is very rewarding: from making new connections to giving back to the industry, and feeling a greater sense of belonging and leadership. Once you have identified the committees you would like to participate in, please review our Committee Guidelines.
How To Join A Committee and/or Volunteer
Please complete the following Committee & Volunteer Application form. A staff member will contact you with the status of your application.
The Advocacy Committee analyzes Government Affairs issues to help inform the decisions of the BOMA BC Government Relations Director. The Advocacy Committee will serve as a two-way street for BOMA staff to solicit advice from the membership, and for BOMA members to raise issues requiring government affairs advocacy. They meet quarterly for 1.5 to 2 hours.

Plans the annual Christmas Luncheon - brainstorms and helps choose the theme, entertainment, food, centrepieces, decor and prizes. Approximately six 1.5 hour long meetings between September and January.
Christmas Cheer Committee Chair:

Formerly the Energy and Environment Committee, the Climate Action Committee develops and delivers energy and sustainability related initiatives. Plans awareness campaigns/events and provides advice to BOMA on programs, policy/legislation/bylaws related to energy and sustainability.
This committee plays a vital role in welcoming new members to the association. They focus on engagement with new members and regularly connect with them via phone or zoom. The committee occasionally brainstorms luncheon speaker and topic ideas and meets quarterly for approximately one hour.

Premium Restoration
Meeting agendas focus on workplace safety with a focus on prevention. Review proposed changes to regulations and policies; develop recommendations. Maintains a network with other safety-related business organizations such as BC Safety Council and Exterior Building Maintenance Association. Committee members attend public WCB hearings and lobby on behalf of the industry when possible.
Emergency Health & Safety Committee Chair:

Plans the annual Golf Classic which includes organizing the contests, brainstorming the golf gift, selling hole sponsorships, selecting prizes and volunteers. They have approximately six 1.5 hour long meetings between May and August.
Golf Committee Chair:

Alpine Building Maintenance Inc.
Ensures that operations personnel are updated on the latest technology, and changes to regulations and building codes. Organizes all the QBT sessions, including finding speakers and liaising with them.
Quality Building Team (QBT) Chair:

Brainstorms ideas for four networking events throughout the year. Planning includes deciding on themes, venues, education, networking activities, prizes and catering. They also discuss ways to introduce young professionals to BOMA BC, and ways to help further their careers. They meet every other month and the meetings typically last up to 1.5 hours.

Brainstorms event and seminar ideas for the Women of BOMA group. Assists with the organization and set up of events, including educational topic, networking activities, venues and prizes. They meet every other month and the meetings are between 1.5 to 2 hours.
