Greater Victoria 2030 District

BOMA BC is pleased to sponsor Western Canada’s first "2030 District” in Greater Victoria. The 2030 Resilient District forms a unique public/private partnership between the City of Victoria and the District of Saanich, and owners and managers of commercial buildings within their boundaries, to achieve aggressive energy and emissions reductions targets, while also enhancing their buildings’ resilience. The program is part of the wider, North America-wide, 2030 District network.

Property managers participating in the program have access to:

  • Support via a peer network
  • Specialists and government representatives to expedite improvements to the sustainability and resilience of building portfolios
  • Purchasing pools to reduce costs associated with energy and resilience retrofit
  • Enhanced brand identity which will help showcase their commitment to achieving high performance buildings

Participating buildings voluntarily commit to reduce their buildings’ energy and emissions by 50% by the year 2030 (from 2007 baseline levels). To achieve these reductions, the District aims to catalyze a critical mass amongst the building owners and managers to investigate best practices and to implement pathways to better financing, design, policy and procurement decisions.
