We are looking for a Security Site Manager to lead operations at an assigned site — someone who brings operational discipline, genuine team leadership, and a commitment to client service that goes above and beyond. The Site Manager position, which reports to the Account Manager designated by Guardteck Operations, is important in ensuring that the site is performing at a high level of Customer Service and following the site's contractual requirements. This position requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to act quickly during various incidents that happen on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management (25% of Time Spent):
- Ensure all staff assigned on site follow Guardteck's standards, rules, and policies.
- Daily review of all Incident Reports, and the Daily Dispatch Log to ensure all pertinent information is captured and ensure proper Grammar is used.
- Email containing the Daily Dispatch Log and any Incident Reports to be sent out daily as per Guardteck SOP.
- Conduct a review of the weekly schedule within Winteam on Mondays at 1200hrs (noon) to ensure the weekly schedule for the previous week has been completely entered and if not, follow up with the Site Security Leadership Team to determine why it has not been completed.
- Review of the pay period being locked down by 1200hrs (noon) on lockdown days to ensure that the schedule that will be locked down is fully entered and all rates are entered properly.
- Reviewing the contract and ensuring that the site is fully compliant with all pre-requisite and site-required training for all staff working on-site.
- Follow up with the Guardteck Operations Team to ensure all required training that is outstanding is being actioned.
- Review and approve any expense reports, pay discrepancies, and recruitment tickets in Zendesk.
- Conduct a meeting with the Guardteck Account Manager at least once every two weeks and ensure that the meeting minutes are tabulated and shared with the Account Manager.
- Monthly Scorecard completion to provide the Account Management Team with an Operational Update on the site's performance.
- Ensure KPIs are being followed and any exceptions should be reported to the Account Management Team, such as: any missed shifts (ran open more than 2hrs), sick days, turnover numbers (resignations and terminations), Lighthouse Scan Points Not Clocked, and Kandor Academy Course Completion.
- Respond to any after-hours emergencies to support Site Staff as well as ensure information is being disseminated to the proper channels based on the incident that is occurring.
- Act as the Incident Commander when on-site during any Emergency Situations until relieved by a member of the Emergency Services (Fire Department or Police Department).
- Act as a liaison between Emergency Services Incident Commander and site resources.
- Act as a liaison between Guardteck and the Site Property Management.
- Collaborating with external stakeholders, such as emergency services, and other service providers rendering services to the site.
- Conduct a thorough investigation for any major incidents and/or any complaints lodged against the Security Team or the Property.
- Ensure that all CCTV footage for any major incidents is bookmarked, copied to a USB Thumb Drive and request that the footage be blocked from being viewed on the CCTV System based on the severity of the incident.
Team Leadership and Mentoring (50% of Time Spent):
- Coaching and Development of the site's Security Leadership Team.
- Developing and implementing robust security strategies and policies to protect the company's assets, employees, and facilities.
- Conduct bi-yearly and yearly Employee Performance Reviews on all staff assigned on site.
- Coordinate and Execution of random tabletop exercises such as Fire Drills and Active Threat Situations (Active Shooter, Subject with a Weapon, Bomb Threats).
- Conduct a meeting with all Shift Supervisors and the Site Security Management Team at least once a month and have the meeting minutes tabulated and sent to the Guardteck Operations Team.
- Site Supervisory Team shall select an employee to be the Employee of the Month.
- Submit a Zendesk Ticket requesting a Gift Card for the Employee of the Month.
- Present the Gift Card and Employee of the Month Certificate to the employee selected.
- Conduct a meeting with the entire Security Team at least once per quarter and have the meeting minutes tabulated and sent to the Guardteck Operations Team.
- Conduct a Team Building Exercise or Event at least once per quarter with the entire Security Team.
- Creation of Site Training Checklists for each position that is required on-site.
- Review and audit of the training checklists to be completed at least twice a year to ensure all training requirements are accurate and make any edits due to duties no longer being required or new duties being added upon approval of the client.
- Ensure all Training Checklists are completed by staff working on-site and are being scanned/saved within the site's Sharepoint.
- Conduct random after-hours visits to the site to ensure that all staff are being proactive and are completing their assigned duties.
- Coordination of external training sessions from approved suppliers — Customer Service, Defensive Edge Tactics, Situational Awareness for Security and De-Escalation.
Client Interaction (25% of Time Spent):
- Conduct random security threat assessments of the property and liaise with the Guardteck Account Manager, and the Site's Property Management Team to assist with possible ways to increase the level of Security and the efficiency of the Security Program.
- Maintaining and updating emergency response plans, ensuring all employees know their roles and responsibilities as well as relaying information requiring updating to the Client to ensure the Response Plans are updated throughout the property.
- Conduct a meeting with the Site Property Management at least twice per month and ensure that the meeting minutes are tabulated and sent to the Guardteck Operations Team.
- Checking in with the Site Property Management Team at least once per day and conduct random site walkthroughs with the Property Management Team.
- Responding and actioning of any Client requests made via email or telephone in a timely and efficient manner.
Any other duties as reasonably assigned and as necessary by the Account Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education
Hard Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and technical aptitude.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of security operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership capacity within the security industry.
- Experience with integrated security systems (CCTV, Access, Intrusion).
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and awareness of Guardteck's business environment and relationships.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Minimum OFA 2 Certification or willingness to attain the certification.
- AST Certification or the willingness to attain the certification.
- Willingness to attain and maintain an ASIS Membership in good standing.
- Willingness to attain and maintain the following certifications: CPTED Certificate (ASIS), Security Risk Assessment Certificate (ASIS), Certified in Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) (IFPO), Retail Asset Protection Certificate (ASIS), Workplace Violence Prevention Certificate (ASIS), Physical Security Professional (PSP) (ASIS), Introduction to Emergency Management in Canada (EMRG-1100 at JIBC), Hazard, Risk, and Vulnerability Analyses (HRVA) (EMRG-1121 at JIBC).
