Description

As of January 1, 2026, energy use in large office and retail buildings 100,000 ft² or larger now counts toward the City of Vancouver’s 2026 Greenhouse Gas Intensity (GHGI) Limits.

In this webinar, City of Vancouver staff will review newly released guidance, including:

  • Professional Verification Requirements
  • Sub-metering of non-office and non-retail loads
  • Temporary Exemption Guidelines
  • District Energy Emission Factor Accounting Protocol

City of Vancouver staff will also walk through reporting steps for 2027 and answer questions during the Q&A.

Additionally, the BOMA BC team will share a case study of three buildings participating in the Decarb Accelerator program that were on a path to NOT meeting their 2026 GHG emissions limits, but through identification of “low-hanging fruit” opportunities, they are now on track to be below their respective limits, saving not just emissions but also thousands of dollars in avoided penalties.

Speakers:
Micah Lang, Team Lead, Large Existing Buildings, City of Vancouver
Gurmeet Ghera, Senior Green Building Planner, City of Vancouver
Ehsan Haghi, Program Manager, Decarb Accelerator, BOMA BC

Price:
