This introductory course provides a practical, market-relevant overview of the BOMA Floor Measurement Standards. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how and why BOMA standards are referenced in commercial leases, appraisal reports, and governing documents, and how different disciplines rely on definitions such as Rentable Area and Gross Area.

The session will explore the history and purpose of the standards, review the key BOMA standards (Office, Retail, Industrial, Multifamily, Hospitality, Mixed-Use, and Gross Area), and discuss when and how each is typically applied. Attendees will gain the knowledge and practical insight needed to navigate measurement standards with greater clarity and confidence in their day-to-day roles.
