October Luncheon: Rethinking Property Tax
-
Thursday, October 23, 2025 · 11:30am - 1:30pm
Location
Fairmont Pacific Rim
1038 Canada Pl, Vancouver, BC
Description
Property taxes are a significant and growing expense for businesses, with various levels of government contributing to the final bill. Unfortunately, the business community continues to bear a disproportionate share of this burden. Factors such as inflation, shifting municipal priorities, and increasing infrastructure demands have all played a role in driving property taxes upward in recent years.
Join us for an insightful session with Paul Sullivan, a leading property tax expert from Ryan ULC, as he unpacks the key drivers behind rising property taxes, outlines what government officials must do to help reduce costs for our industry and explores how a changing office market and rapid housing development may impact future assessments. He’ll also highlight where our industry should focus its advocacy efforts to help ensure a fairer and more sustainable property tax system.
