Carbon Compliance Credits Guide: Generating & Reporting EV Charging Revenue

The guide aims to assist building owners, property managers, and their consultants in fulfilling reporting requirements for earning carbon compliance credits linked to electric vehicle (EV) charging under British Columbia's Low Carbon Fuels Standard (LCFS). It offers insight into compliance reporting methodology, best practices for monetizing LCFS carbon compliance credits, and obtaining revenue from EV charging assets.

Additionally, it provides guidance on obtaining revenue from carbon compliance credits generated through the federal Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR).

Reporting Requirements:

Each compliance period is the calendar year from January 1 to December 31. Compliance reports are due on March 31 following each compliance period. Reporting documents for the 2023 Compliance Period are due on March 31, 2024
